
John W. Chambers, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 29, 2017. He was born on September 4, 1931 in St. Paul, IN to John and Freda Chambers.
He joined the US Army and served in the Korean War. John was honorably discharged as a Corporal Tech 2.
He worked for Diamond Chain for 31 years, retiring on October 1, 1993.
John is survived by his stepson, Leon (Sue) Humphrey; 1 grandchild; 4 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; his siblings, Carl, Franklin, and Doris; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 50 years, Mary; his sisters; and his best buddy, Tripper.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 6 at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W Moore Chapel. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. John will be laid to rest with military honors at New Crown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Riley’s Children Hospital.
